SHAPING A BRIGHTER FUTURE FOR VULNERABLE CHILDREN

Extreme poverty, forced migration, and rising family violence are making children increasingly vulnerable in Venezuela.

According to data from CECODAP and Datanálisis, nearly one million children have been left behind by migrant parents. Meanwhile, the number of children’s shelters in the country has decreased by 46%, while requests for shelter have increased by 70% in recent years.

However, Hope Children’s Hope (Casa Hogar de La Esperanza) has endured for sixteen years. Located in eastern Venezuela, this institution provides permanent or temporary shelter for approximately 15 children. It operates with limited and sporadic donations and support from a few volunteers.
